For the fifth consecutive year, Bentley students are among seven finalist teams in the annual NASA Means Business (NMB) competition scheduled for spring 2009. The team consists of approximately 10 Bentley students who will present to NASA officials at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL, in May.
This year’s competing students are charged with designing a strategy to articulate the anticipated contributions NASA’s Constellation Program will make to space exploration, as well as to everyday life on Earth. According to faculty adviser and senior lecturer in Astronomy George Fishman, team members will refine their ideas for their business and marketing plan, create a video public service announcement, and put together a detailed PowerPoint presentation for the May presentation. “Students met in the fall to create mini-groups to cover different areas of their plan, and created some very innovative and exciting ideas.”
Team members include seniors Ellen Morris (president), Katie Ogorzalek, and Katie Ross; juniors Daniel Britti, William Connolly, William DeVito, Michael Pini, and Alex Wiercinski; and sophomores Jeffrey Salvesen and Angad Sawhney.
The NASA Means Business Student Competition is funded by the Coalition for Space Exploration and NASA, and is managed by the Texas Space Grant Consortium.
