Bentley University Professor Christine Williams Appointed Managing Editor for North America for the Journal of Political Marketing

Faculty Members Pierre Berthon, Abdolreza Eshghi and Girish J. (Jeff) Gulati Elected as Members of the Editorial Board

Bentley University Professor of Political Science Christine Williams was appointed Managing Editor for North America for the Journal of Political Marketing. Three additional Bentley faculty members were also appointed as members of the Editorial Board:  Pierre Berthon, Clifford F. Youse Chair of Marketing; Abdolreza Eshghi, professor of marketing; and Girish J. (Jeff) Gulati, assistant professor of political science.

Professor Williams feels the journal is well positioned to bring timely professional expertise to the analysis of profound changes we are seeing in the media environment.  "New technologies redefine how governments, political leaders and citizens communicate and interact with one another creating new opportunities and challenges for political marketing.

Williams' research focuses on political communication, with emphasis on new and emerging technologies, and e-government. Her editorial résumé also includes serving as associate editor and on the Senior Editorial Board of the Journal of Information Technology and Politics. Her work has appeared in academic journals, trade and professional association publications, and in news media outlets worldwide.

"Christine brings to the editorship a wealth of experience and scholarship in the fields of political science and marketing," says Bruce Newman, editor-in-chief of the Journal of Political Marketing.

Pierre Berthon's research focuses on technology, sustainability, electronic commerce, marketing information processing, organization and strategy, and decision-making. He also serves on a number of other Editorial Boards, including the Journal of Information Technology & Politics, Industrial Marketing Management, International Journal of Advertising, and Journal of Asia Pacific Marketing. He has published more than 100 articles in peer reviewed journals across a range of disciplines.

Abdolreza Eshghi's research interests focus on customer relationship management. His articles have appeared in the Telecommunications Policy, Journal of Global Information Technology Management, Journal of Modern Applied Statistical Methods , Marketing Management Journal, Journal of Business Strategies, The American Statistician, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Eastern European Economics, International Marketing Review, and Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice.

Jeff Gulati's research interests are in telecommunications policy, e-government, political communication and the news media, campaigns and elections, and representation in theory and practice. Additionally, he has designed studies assessing higher education programs and policies, election polls, and surveys for non-profits, interest groups and local governments. He also serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Information Technology & Politics.
